PROGRAM: Student of the Month - Mathematics

Jan Perruicco reviewed our Student of the Month program, the students are chosen by the teachers of the subject discipline, Rotary International active in Polio Plus and a $25.00 check will be given to Polio Plus in the student’s name, also each student receives a check for $25.00

WESTBROOK    Gus Marx

Principal Tara Winch introduced the Chair of the Mathematics Department Caitlyn Riggles. Caitlyn in turn introduced and spoke about Gus Marks a very responsible student and a good all-around student. Presently taking 4 college level course at Westbrook High School. Plans to attend UConn major in computer science.    

OLD SAYBROOK   Josh Chang

Superintendent Jan introduce the Chair of the Mathematics Department Barbara Dimberg. Barbara in turn introduced and spoke about Josh Chang. Josh a very well rounded student, on his way to perform with The National Band playing the french horn in the 8th grade took high school  level math courses, now studying at AP level and math courses on line. Plans to study Mechanical Engineering hopefully at Stanford.

LYME/OLD LYME HIGH SCHOOL   Laura Lee Wayland

Assistant Principal Jeanne Manfredi introduced the Chair of the Mathematics Department Kirk Kaczor. Kirk in turn introduced and spoke about Laura Lee.  Laura is a well-rounded student, a leader, great in Mathematics, on robotics team, VP National Honor Society, Also an Irish step dancer, beautiful.  Plans to move on in an engineering field.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Vista donated $180.00 to the Haiti Project

Cathy King and Don Dobson, Fire Marshall’s office spoke about the 4th and 5th graders and the poster contest. Been going on for 25 years, neat. The rotary Club of Old Saybrook gave them $200.00 to help with the project

Working on a Global Grant for the water project in Uganda. A meeting is scheduled for Friday A M November 11 with Martha Hoffman at The Estuary.

Hear and Eat spaghetti dinner this Thursday November 10 at Fireman’s Field 4:30 – 6:30 $10.00
