Bio - Doug Wisner
Doug Wisner is an attorney but his career could not have been predicted based on his childhood. Doug was born and raised in the south side of Chicago a mostly blue collar community that is the least affluent compared to the North and West side of town. Doug grew up near the Sherwin Williams paint plant. His father was a salesman for a fire hydrant company. He has an older sister. His parents stressed work over education. Doug was a problem child (in his words) through high school. He had a desire to fly however and earned his pilots license at age 15. Doug was near sighted so a career in the air force as a flyer wasn't possible. He was on the verge of getting drafted and would have flown missions in Vietnam for the Army (who had more relaxed standards for vision) but the war ended so Doug continued his education. Mowing the lawn one day he decided he wanted to be a lawyer but his academic record and money situation were problems. He struck a deal with his father that if he worked hard and maintained a B average in college, he would help him through school. Doug was freezing at a car wash job one day when the police chief came and let him know there was an opening at dispatch in the police station. Doug jumped at the opportunity and he decided to go into criminal justice. The police paid his tuition at college, his grades improved and got then accepted to Boston College Law School. He studied tax law, graduated and went to work for Exxon. He was bored with this job and only stayed for 6 months however one good thing that came of this job was meeting his future bride, Maureen. Doug went to work for a NY law firm where he worked long demanding hours day and night.  Maureen, despite advanced credentials in accounting and business, was a stay at home mom taking care of their daughter and twin boys. Doug retired last year, but with his background in gaming and commercial real estate (he helped establish casino resorts all over the world), he will be going to be working with the Mohegan Sun Tribal Gaming Commission on Feb 1.

We ended the meeting with the 4 way test.
