SPECIAL BUSINESS MEETING

President Sam Fulginiti briefed the club on the resolution of the recent difficulties within the club. Two people resigned from The Rotary Club of Old Saybrook, Gerri Lewis and Rick Beck. Reason for the resignations had to do with their handling of the situation more than the situation itself. General discussion resulted in one and all expressing, “what’s done is done” and we move forward in a very positive manner. We will continue to work on The Wine Tasting event and the golf tourney.

Brian De Blasiis lead a discussion re: the need to straighten out our structure ala the five Avenues of Service, sub committees’, a By Law review committee, review the membership and structure of our Board of Directors and the hiring of an independent accountant to do a complete accounting of our books.

Rev. Ed Cornell performed the induction ceremony for new officers, Sam Fulginiti President, Brian DeBlasiis President-Elect, and Kathy Callinan Treasurer.

Many more good things to come.
