Happy Bucks: Happy for the students, parents, teachers, and guests; happy to get through March, Ben and Jerry’s is giving away free cones next Tuesday, By-Laws committee has completed its assignment, and happy for the free food (Tanner Jones).

Alert: Pat Settembrino (acting S.A.A.) is reinstating the fine for not wearing the Rotary Badge. Please wear the badge or bring an extra dollar next week.

Program: Student of the Month: Technology Education. Jan Perruccio, Superintendent of Schools, described how the woodshop class of years gone by has evolved into today’s Tech Ed. Program. She then introduced the administrators, teachers, and students from the Westbrook, Old Saybrook, and Lyme/Old Lyme school districts. (Well done!)

     Westbrook High School: Principal, Tara Winch, and teacher, Peter Anderson, described Liam Ber as a well- rounded student who excels in all subject areas and school/community activities. He has developed a talent for woodworking and is currently involved in constructing a guitar. Liam plans to attend the University of Hartford and study architecture.

     Old Saybrook High School: Assistant principal, Joe Anastasio, and teacher, Jerry Carlone, described Tanner Jones as OSHS’s “ambassador”. He mentors middle school students while also being a leader in the classroom and in athletics. Tanner plans on attending New England Tech. and studying Plumbing/Heating.

     Lyme/Old Lyme High School: Assistant principal, Jeanne Manfredi, and teacher, William Derry, described Ryan Romella as a quality student who “flies under the radar”. Ryan’s interests include: baseball, technology, and science. He is on the Science Olympiad Team and also coaches the middle school team. He is also involved with the electric vehicle and robotics programs. Ryan plans on attending the University of Connecticut and studying Computer Science.

Outreach: The club voted to donate $2,500.00 to the Old Saybrook Congregational Church to aide a displaced family from Puerto Rico.
