Happy Bucks:  Students, parents, breakfast at OSHS (thank you Jan and Maureen), Teacher Appreciation Week, the Spring weather, and happy to be invited.

Program: Student of the Month: Business Education.  Jan Perruccio, Old Saybrook Superintendent of Schools, described the importance of business education in today’s world and then introduced the administrators, teachers, and students from the Westbrook, Lyme/Old Lyme, and Old Saybrook School Districts.

Old Saybrook High School:
Sebastiano Gallitto – Presented by Sheila Riffle, principal, and Terri Linn, Business Education Teacher. Sebby was described as “a model human being.” He is not afraid to work hard to succeed. He comes to class with ideas and solutions to problems that may give other students difficulty. Sebby is involved in sports, the National Honor Society and is a proven leader in the classroom as well as the school community. He will be attending Purdue University and has enrolled in the Actuary Program.

Westbrook High School: Nikol Jara – Presented by Tara Winch, principal, and Susan McManns, Business Education teacher. Nikol was described as one who exemplifies “service above self”. She is not only involved in a multitude of activities but she takes on a leadership role in all of them. As class president, she “took charge” and was responsible for organizing the first Semiformal Winter Ball. She is detailed oriented, friendly, and a leader of the entire school community. Nikol will be attending Eastern Connecticut State University, majoring in Biology while studying business as a minor.

Lyme/Old Lyme High School: Joshua Liefeld – Presented by Jeanne Manfredi, assistant principal, and Leslie Traver, Business Education teacher. Josh “leads by example” and always “follows his passion”. He is willing to share ideas and help others. Josh is involved with the Latin Club, the High School Bowl Team, and the Fencing Team. He is a “quick learner” and hopes to attend M.I.T. when he graduates next year.

Announcement: Sam read a note from the Refugee Resettlement Committee of Lyme/Old Lyme thanking the club for our recent donation.
