Business Meeting: Bill McLaughlin

Bill called on the chairs of the Avenues of Service committees to update the club on the progress of each committee.

Club Service: Pat explained the history and the selection process of the Paul Harris Foundation Award. The committee will revise and update the club’s roster book. Pat will get a contact person in the Hurricane Florence affected areas in the Carolinas. An action plan will then be developed.

Community Outreach:  Joan Michaud explained the application process and gave examples of the types of one time grants that have be awarded in recent months. Kathy Callinan, Bill O’Shaughnessy, and Joan will be responsible for contacting Youth and Family Services in our three towns to determine when and if there is a need for assistance.

Student Dictionaries: Under the direction of Charlie Norz, 240 dictionaries were prepared to be delivered to third graders in Lyme/Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, and Westbrook. Volunteers will be needed for the distribution process. Contact Charlie for the times and dates for each school.
