Announcements:
Greg Karal, a Rotarian from the Plainville Club, spoke about a program that he hopes becomes an International Project in the near future. Erasmus+ is the European Union’s program to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. For nearly 30 years, the EU has funded the Erasmus Program that provides opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, and gain experience abroad. Rotary will get involved by finding short term internship placements for 225 students in a variety of industries. Please review Greg’s handout and contact him if you are interested in the Erasmus+ Program.

Contact Bill O. if you are interested in attending the District Conference on May 18, 2019.

Marty presented information about the Rotarian on Route 1 fundraiser. Ken Robertshaw, a member of the Halifax Rotary Club, is riding his bike from Maine to Florida to raise funds for the Theodora Children’s Charity. They are partners with Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland. He will be in Old Saybrook on 7/19/19 and although he is not seeking funds, he is looking for a place to spend the night. We agreed to put him up at SPI or other hotel.
