PROGRAM: Robin Ely, Mind Matters LLC

Our speaker was Robin Ely RN of Mind Matters, LLC.  Mind Matters is a Day Care center for adults with dementia. Robin has a facility at 220 Old Boston Post Road Suite 2 in Old Saybrook.

Dementia has many forms, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, etc. The effects of dementia are often tragic, for both patient and care giver. The disease has a huge economic impact 290 billion dollars last year. Treatment is not always effective as caregivers play an important role. One of Minds Matters services is to give caregivers a break. Mind Matters aim is to enable clients to feel successful on what they can accomplish.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

The world would sleep if things were run

By men who say, “It can’t be done”

THE FOUR WAY TEST of the things we think, say, or do

1)   Is it the TRUTH?

2)   Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3)   Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDHSIPS?

4)   Will it be BENEFICAL to all concerned?
