Announcements:
Kathy Callinan has researched getting Rotary aprons and hats from a local vendor. Several hats were on display and Joan Michaud modeled the apron that would be used at fund raising events.

An article in the Estuary Newsletter thanked the Rotary for its donation which was used to purchase outdoor patio furniture.

Five letters were sent to local businesses encouraging them to attend Rotary Events and meetings and to consider joining our club.

Sign up if you are planning to attend the November luncheon meeting. Rep. Joe Courtney will be the featured guest.

Program:  Kuhn Employment Opportunities

Pat Devito introduced two members of the Senior Management Team: Executive Director, Beth Fisher and Director of Support Services & Employment Development, Erin Gasparini. Kuhn Employment Opportunities is a non-profit agency committed to helping people with disabilities find and retain employment. Beth and Erin presented a power point presentation that explained the mission, the history, the services, and the community involvement of Kuhn Employment Opportunities. Kuhn’s mission is centered on its simple VIP principle. Kuhn clients are Valued in the community, Independent by earning a wage, and Proud of their work. Kuhn offers a full array of services for all disability groups. Kuhn can provide employers and businesses with a ready in-house workforce or meet productivity needs at one of their off-site production facilities. Kuhn serves the Greater Meriden Area including all of Middlesex County. Kuhn’s annual budget is four million dollars which is funded by donations, fund raisers, and State funding from the Department of Developmental Services.
