   Happy Bucks: many for the students, parents, teachers, and administrators; Old Saybrook High School for being recognized as a Top Ten School in Connecticut, happy to see Joe and Pat, good health, O.S.Rotary Club for the good things it does for the students of Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, and Westbrook.

Student of the Month: Technology Education

Superintendent Jan Perruccio introduced students, teachers, and administrators from the high schools. She explained the Polio Plus program and indicated that a donation would be made in each student’s name to this world wide program.

Westbrook High School: Student - Jonathan Hotowski, Presenters – Tara Winch, Principal: Paul Pessoni, Teacher. “Service above Self” describes J.T. perfectly. He is known for his willingness to help others, being a natural teacher, and his skill as a welder. His future plans include becoming an electrician.

Old Saybrook High School: Student – Cooper Pavlovich, Presenters – Joe Anastasio, Associate Principal: Gerry Carlone, Teacher. Cooper is a leader on the football field and in the classroom. He is the captain of his team and a mentor for his peers. He is known for his positive affect on the people he is with. Next Fall, Cooper will be attending the Coast Guard Academy.

Lyme Old Lyme High School: Student – William Bartlett, Presenters – Jeanne Manfredi, Assistant Principal: Jonathan Goss, Teacher. Jonathan is known for his passion for learning. His Senior Project, which is almost complete, involves converting a Model T from gasoline power to an electric operation. His community involvement includes being a firefighter and a certified EMT. Next Fall, Jonathan will be studying woodworking.

Joe is back from Hawaii - he told the group that there are definite issues concerning travel these days and be ready to change your plans. The airlines are in turmoil.

   Thank you, Brent, for keeping our Meals on Wheels commitment running smoothly. This year’s golf tournament will be on May 29th.

   Joan announced that Outreach will be donating $1,000.00 to the Senior Strings Program which is run by Youth and Family Services in Old Saybrook.

   Talk to Gary if you are interested in becoming Vice President.

   We may have to postpone April’s Student of the Month program due to a recommendation of “social isolation” caused by the Caronavirus pandemic.
