President Update

1. President Gary read several Thank You Notes from recipients of the gift cards, well received.

2.) Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce Online Auction going well. Bidding ends @ 9:00 P M Thursday July 16, 2020

3.) Meals on Wheels back in business.  Marty has a sign-up sheet review sign-up and check with Brent.

4.) President Gary read a thank you note from the Old Lyme Emergency Dept. They were pleased to get the PPP and PPR equipment.

5.) President Gary reviewed his e-mail of 07/13/20 outlining the structure of Club meeting for the remainder of the Rotary year. A Business meeting the first Wed of each month focusing on reports of The Avenues of Service, 2nd Wed Student of the Month, 3rd and 4th Wed’s speaker schedule, etc.  Reread the 07/13/20 e-mail for all of the details.

6,) President Gary talked about the District 7980 “Club Online Virtual Fundraising Program, Eventgroove”. Features a Benefits, Fundraising Options, Easy Promotion, Reporting Tools, Automated fundraising. The Rotary Club of Madison and The Rotary Club of Branford are using the program. Reread President Gary’s e-mail 07/15/20 for more information.

Fund Raising

1.) Mac dinner plans on for Sunday October 18. 2020 @ Estuary or Fireman’s Field.  Moving forward

2.)  We have flyer out to promote the Omaha Steak program to one and all. Program works fine. Try it

3.) Gold Tourney a work in progress with Charlie Renshaw, Brent T

4.) Anyone with ideas speak up!!

Old Saybrook Community Long Term Recovery Committee

1.)  Group headed by Gary McCauley working with media to expand coverage about activities of non-profits, how they operate, etc. The Group has secured the service of a student to help with technology.

Community Outreach

1.) Estuary of Seniors. “Bridge the Gap”, for a virtual fund raiser

2.) Connecticut Cancer Foundation for their needs a possible speaker.

3.) “Grab a Meal for Kids” at OSHS have a need. Vote taken to give $1,000.00 Passed.

Looking to have an outdoor meeting for Wednesday July 29. 2020 Noon @ Johnny Ads. Sign-up taken.
