President Gary has received word from ADG Tari Marshall-Dey that all clubs in the district need a club goal for the Rotary Fondation and Polio Plus giving. DG Ron Webb suggested Old Saybrook pledge $1500. Last year we awared 3 Paul Harris Fellows which accounted for $3000 and should count toward this pledge. Bill McLaughlin pointed out that we have been giving $25 for Polio Plus through the Student of the Month program for quite some time. Bill O. suggested we pledge $500.

Public service announcements through the town are being given. The club has 3000 masks on the way from district to be delivered to Middlesex Health.

Bill McLaughlin talked about Rotary and fellowship through hobbies and everyone's daily activities. For example, Bill and his wife Rosemany have taken RV trips around the country for years. He has connected with other rotarians who enjoy the same activity and worked Habitat for Humanity in as well. He visited a large farm owned and operated by a rotarian and saw the Chicago Bears play a game in Soldiers Field through Rotary.

Macaroni Dinner Update
Chairman John Aforismo has to date 30 tickets sold. Marty produced a flyer and poster which will be ready next week. John plans on setting up at Saybrook Hardware on a Saturday to sell tickets and possibly Stop & Shop as well. Its important we presell as many tickets as possible so that we can estimate how much food to buy and prepare. John visited the facilty at Fireman's Field. A layout will be done and activity flow determined to take orders (tickets) and deliver the meals to waiting cars in the lot. There will be much to do inside the building and out to perform the task and much planning beforehand is necessary. Food, containers and more will have to be purchased. As a club, we will have to roll up our sleeves and make a successful event!

Pete Zucco talked about membership. He needs more names for his "soft-sell" efforts to gain new members.

Treasurer Kathy Callinan wasn't at the meeting but left word with Gary that we are in the black but not by much.

Gary reported that our $1000 donation to the Kids Lunch Bunch allowed for an additional 2 weeks of meals. In 8 days over 600 lunches were delivered.

Upcoming meetings: Next week, ZOOM..Sept. 30, lunch meeting at the pavilion.. Oct.14 meeting at Firemans Field for a walk-thru before the Macaroni Dinner the following Sunday

Charlie Norz announced that its Dictionary Project time but we cannot go into the schools to deliver the dictionaries and will simply drop them off.
