Happy Bucks: Several for our guests, the weather and the beautiful day, the UCONN women’s basketball team, Robin (a prospective new member), after a long wait – Pete’s new kitchen stove is being delivered today.

President’s Update:
   - PPE Masks - will be available in October. Rotary will donate them to Middlesex Health.
   - Rotary Magazine - delivery glitches have been addressed. All members should now be receiving the Rotarian
   - Scarecrow Contest – the Chamber is running the annual competition. If interested in participating, see Gary.
   - Guests from the Madison Rotary Club, Scott and B.J., shared information about their current fundraiser called the MADraffle and runs through October 8th. It directly supports 34 restaurants in Madison while raising funds for the Rotary Club. A $20 raffle ticket could result in one of ten prizes ranging from a first prize of a $100 gift card to each of the 34 restaurants in Madison to a $15 gift card to each of Madison’s eight pizza places. The goal is to support the local restaurants by purchasing a $100 gift card while raising $30,000 for the club. Program: The Connecticut Cancer Foundation (CCF)


Joan Michaud introduced the President and Executive Director of CCF, Jane Ellis. CCF started 33 years ago with the mission to financially assist Connecticut cancer patients and their families with basic living needs and to fund cancer research. Over the years, CCF has distributed $6.1 million to 7,000 families while contributing $2.2 million cancer research at Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Jane described two upcoming major fundraising events. No Shave November and the Annual Celebrity Dinner and Sports Memorabilia Auction.
