PROGRAM

 

Pat DeVito introduced Denise Henry, Director SARAH, INC. SARAH is located on Boston Post Road, Westbrook, CT.

SARAH, Inc. is a nonprofit actively serving nonprofit a population with autism and other challenges to enhance skills and enrich lives. SARAH began on 1957 by three local families and now service +/- 1,400 children and adults each year, mainly in Middlesex County. All children are eligible and are teamed with Occupation Therapist, Speech Therapist, and others to work with the families and the child.

Adult service center around enrichment and employment.

Denise voice pride in the staff for their dedication, hard work and loyalty.

The need is great and it seems that the legislators in Hartford are listening and additional funding may be on its way.

SARAH Inc. has two specific needs, “Kids Steps and Autism Boxes”. Our Club decided to apply for a District 7980 Grant of $1,000.00 and match it with $1,000.00 to purchase two “Kids Steps” Boxes, also to purchase five “Autism Boxes” with a, Rotary Club of Old Saybrook Foundation Grant, of $1.200.00 Well Done.

 

 

PRESIDENT’S UPDATE

1.) PPE masks delivered to Old Lyme and Old Saybrook schools. Westbrook school to be delivered next Monday 9:00 – 11:00 AM contact Gary

2.) Web site, Mary has the contract reviewed by Brian DeB, ready to go.

3.) Budget planning on going.

4.)  Alan S has the shirt order $35.00 per shirt. Purchase when you wish.

5.)  Zoom meetings continue, Discussions about going face to face continue.

FUND RAISING

1.)  Golf Tourney Nothing new 

2.)  Wine Tasting Nothing new.  Plan Ahead.

3.)  “Shredding Day” on for Saturday April 24, 2021, 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.  Cost $5.00 per box to shred.  Advertising in Harbor News, Saybrook Events, Old Saybrook Chamber, work with Amber to involve The INTERACT Club.

4.) Mac Dinner Fireman’s Field has been booked for Sunday October 17, 2021 Good Food, Good Fund raiser, Good Rotary Publicity!!

5.)  Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce Art and Craft Show for 2021 is up in the air. If held we are in.

WEB SITE REPORT

Marty D and President Gary McC have had additional discussions with Web Solutions regarding updating our web site. Also, Marty’s daughter is in the web design business and is lending a hand.  The Foundation has funds to finance this work
