John Donnelly updated the club regarding some of the projects taking place in Ghana. The Global grant for Ghana report was sent to Rotary International and is ahead of schedule. The grant is to be used for establishing Library's in Ghana, sending hardcover books, and computer supplies to include flat panel monitors and battery solar panels. John stated a 1/2 conatiner shipment will be leaving for Ghana soon and will consist of mainly computer supplies as hardcover books is not as cost effective and usually they get stolen before they get in the right hands as books are like money. Containers are now controlled all the way and Rotarians in Ghana pick up the books and take to a warehouse where eventually the books are distributed to the Library's as long as the town is certified to run a Library.
The Chineses are improving the road systems in Ghana as there is no speed limit and there have been multiple fatalies. Safety programs have been set up to make people aware the speed does kill.
The sanitation in Ghana is not fit as there are no toilets. A program has been put into place where every family in Southern Ghana will receive a toilet.

President Bill O'Shaughnessy brought to the clubs attention that the Shoreline Soup Kitchen is looking for a donation to purchase a new commercial dishwasher. They are looking for $2500.00 from OS Rotary with a district matching grant of $2500.00 totalling $5,000.00. If they do not get funds to purchase the commercial dishwasher they will have to shut down.  The club voted and all were in favor. Donation was accepted.
