Happy Bucks:  Many for students and parents, several for Spring like weather, Joe Arcari for his daughter who is up for a promotion in the Army Corps of Engineers.

Student of the Month:  Technology

    Lyme/Old Lyme High School: Tom Roth  -  Assistant Principal, Michelle Dean, described Tom as a humble, generous, and passionate learner. He is a nationally ranked cart racer and the coach of the middle school Science Olympiad Team. Teacher, John Goss, said Tom is the ideal engineering student. He is a member of the Science and Math Teams and has been the major force in building the school's electric car. Tom plans on studying mechanical engineering next year in college.

    Westbrook High School:  Matt Hovey - Principal, Tara Winch, described Matt as the "glue that holds WHS together." He is reliable, dependable, and a quiet force in the high school. Teacher, Peter Anderson, said Matt is an amazingly talented worker. Matt has designed, built, and set up a maple sugaring  process that is currently in operation. Matt hopes to earn a business degree leading to a career in construction management.

      Old Saybrook High School: Trent Duffy - Principal, Sheila Riffle, described Trent as the student who best exemplifies the school's motto, PRIDE. Teacher, Kara Bell, praised Trent's contributions to the school: ranging from helping fellow students to helping teachers with their websites. Trent founded the Computer Team at OSHS and has started his own computer repair business. He plans on studying Computer Science at Northeastern University.

    District Assembly will be on April 18th in Meriden. Contact Gerri or Kathy if you would like to attend,
    Kathy Callinan will be attending President Elect Training in Boston later this week.
    Social Services sent a thank you note for our contribution to the Sweatshirt Project.
    Ken Roche and Joe Arcari will do Meals on Wheels tomorrow.
    Golf Tournament is scheduled for May 21st. Weather forecast is sunny and warm.

New Member Induction: Joe Arcari

    Joe, sponsored by Ken Roche, was inducted into Rotary Old Saybrook. He moved to Old Saybrook last year after a career in the military and the engineering field. Welcome to the club, Joe. We look forward to working with you.
