Terry thanked The Rotary Club of Old Saybrook for the Student of the Month program, students and staff appreciates the recognition. Sophie very involved in giving of herself, very mature young lady, intelligent and a solid sense of responsibility Plans are to attend Rhodes College, Memphis,TN Westbrook Business Student of the Month, Julia Honan, introduced by Sue McMannis, Julia is very active @ Westbrook High School, including field hockey, softball, good athlete. A very involved student and is confident in her studies, approaches all activities with a smile. Plans are to attend Southern Connecticut State University in the fall. Lyme/Old Lyme Business Student of the Month, Holly Fiscus, Introduced by Joanne Headwall. Holly very involved at Lyme.Old Lyme High School. Places the needs of others ahead of herself. Holly takes on every task with responsibility, initiative, and hard work. Holly will do well in the business world. Plans are to attend Bentley University in the fall. Old Saybrook High School Honduras Expedition Twelve students will be traveling to Honduras, in July, to participate in a two week workshop studying coral reefs and the ocean waters along the eastern coast of Honduras. This is a work/study event with college course credit given. This is not a holiday. The group will look at and study the diaderma on the island of Roatan, off the Honduran coast and then move to the mainland to Tela, Honduras to study the coral reef and the effect of the declining diaderma on the coral. The group will be trained in scuba diving so they will be able to examine the coral first hand. We will have the group attend a Rotary meeting in the fall to report on the happenings on their adventure.
