Obligations have been paid and now working on a fund raising campaign, $5 million. Can sin and work out anywhere, “Y” is working on developing core programs and reaching out to the community. Planning for the future. Tony spoke about “The Race for Chase Triathlon” named after a Sandy Hook lad Chase Anthony Mathew Kowalski. An event for 5 – 13 year old children. A 6 week program where the kids learn to swim, bike and run. Also taught core values. Obtained bikes from “bikes for Kids” for those who did not have a bike. They were able to take the bike with them when program finished. Swim coaches work with the team members, along with triathlete. The meet was held in Southington, with 200 team members. Swim 50 and/or 100 mteres. Bike 1 and or 2 miles run ½ mile. Program had 1 coach for 8 team members. Program was funded with a $7,500 grant. This has been reduced to $5,000 for the coming year. Have a need for $2,500 The Rotary Club of Old Saybrook presented Tony with a check for $500 to help for next year.
