Happy Bucks: Happy to have winning ticket for lottery tonight, for all our guests today, for the students, for the beautiful day, for my grandson and his Wolfpack team who scored winning goal in the last few seconds of the game by a six year old, happy it’s not too icy this morning and very happy Rotary continues to support the students.

Student of the Month, Jan Peruccio - Science

Lyme/Old Lyme: Ethan Fenton
Ethan’s teacher describe him as gifted with many talents. He is a scholar athlete who enjoys soccer and tennis. He is a National Honor Student and is very involved in his community. He recently became an EMT for Old Lyme. He is currently taking UCONN courses and has the top grade in his class. He is a great humanitarian, always helping in his community and helps others in school. Ethan has applied to several schools. He plans to study Pre-med.

Westbrook: Taylor McCain
Taylor’s principal and teacher describe her as a top performer who is extremely bright, conscientious, and responsible. She is a National Honor Student and is an accomplished musician. Taylor is part of the school jazz band. She is an extremely dedicated hard worker and took the initiative to take an additional physic course on-line so all required science courses were complete. Taylor will be going to Carnegie Hall in April.

Old Saybrook: Kelley Slimon

Kelley’s teacher describes her as having a drive for independence and dedication with everything she accomplishes. Kelley helps others achieve their goals by participating in the OS Exam program helping students to prepare and take exams. She is passionate, reliable and has a hidden leadership. She is patient and loves to study the environment. She is part of the Ecology and Science club and is part of a panel that brings to light current environmental issues of Towns and State. Kelley eventually will pursue environmental science.

 

Old Saybrook: Tenzin Rabjam, Last Month- Social Studies
Tenzin models by example. He follows Rotaries 4 way test; “Service above self”. He is a member of the national Honor Society. He will be assisting freshman to take “comprehensive test” at the High School this evening. Every Saturday, Tenzin gives up two hours to help student learn the Tibetan language. He has vision and focuses on what he is working on at the moment. Tenzin enjoys music, is an athlete and Scholar. Tenzin will pursue a major in political science.
