Think about what we can improve on

  • With so many people it was crowded. Move the cheese table, raffle table to make room for more seating?
  • Check in got very crowded
  • Some auction bids should have had higher starting bids
  • More wine tables and bigger offering
  • More space needed around the auction tables
  • More seating needed
  • Limit the number of tickets sold
  • Offer online bidding
  • Should we continue the wine tasting aspect and concentrate on the auction?
  • Give out fewer complimentary tickets?
  • Instructions on silent auction in book, some people didn't know what to do
  • More?

Joan Winters has Rotary thank you cards so if you need to send any, get them from Joan.

SHREDDING DAY, Saturday April 20, 2024

John Aforismo is the coordinator for this event.
If you are helping, bring a chair. Amber will have the keys to the building for restroom access. 19 people are signed up. The tents and tables will be set up at 8am - help needed. Check boxes for metal and remove as they can damage the shredding equipment. There will be electronic and bike recycle areas as well handled by students. Chief Spera will have help sent to direct traffic and help set up cones for traffic flow in the parking lot. Clean up includes taking boxes to the transfer station at the conclusion.

Joan Winters is heading up a recruitment event at the Highliner III in Westbrook on Wed, May 29 from 6-8pm. There will be no cost to attend.

Cheryl talked about a housing initiative for teachers. Senator Murphy is forwarding this to allow teachers to live rent free during their school engagement.

Florence Griswold Museum is looking for volunteers for their grounds cleanup day April 27 from 8am -3pm. Let Nancy know if you can help.

Tara Winch had 2 Outreach requests: High Hopes Therapeutic Riding ($2000 request) and The Kate ($500 request). The committee approved $1000 for High Hopes which was approved at this meeting and $500 was approved for The Kate for their education program/museum.

John Aforismo will coordinate with Bob (VFW) for the work being done to the hall.

Nancy and Jan P is sending out a "club health" survey today. It will take about 20 minutes so please respond.
