Happy Bucks: Sheila is happy her son and his family are safe in California, Bill O. is happy that Eda has just become a great-great grandmother, several for our guests, many for the firefighters and volunteers battling the wildfires in CA, for new and old friends, and several for the upcoming Wine Tasting Event on 3/1/25.

Update of Club Committees:

     Arts & Crafts Show (September): needs CO-Chairs

     Celebrate Old Saybrook (June): The Club voted to participate again this Summer.

     Chili Fest on 3/1: Sign up on the work sheet.

     Peace Committee: Checking with Park & Rec to suggest a location on Town property for the installation of a permanent Peace Pole.

     Shredding Event: The Club voted to conduct another shredding event again this Spring.

     Summer Concert Series (Town of Old Saybrook): The Club voted to become a major sponsor again this year. The cost of the sponsorship remains at $1500.

     Scholarship Committee: Checks are being mailed to the schools of last year’s Scholarship Winners. Applications for this year’s scholarships will be posted on the Club’s website later this month.

     Social Committee: needs a co-chair and volunteers to pick up and set up breakfast and lunch for the first, third, and fourth meetings of the month. Contact Gina to sign up.

     Golf Outing: You have until September 8th to perfect your golf game! This event will take place, rain or shine, at the Fox Hopyard Golf Club in East Haddam.

     The newly formed Disaster Relief Committee is looking for members. If interested, contact Nancy as soon as possible.

     Wine & Beer Tasting and Silent Auction Event: Marty and Pete distributed packets that contain everything you need to know about our most important fundraiser. They stressed the importance of starting to visit past sponsors ASAP and beginning ticket sales later this month. The packets contain six tickets. More forms are available online for download which can then be printed or emailed. The success of the Wine Tasting is predicated on great club participation so do your part by selling tickets, getting auction items and sponsors. If you need more, see Marty who has extra forms, flyers and tickets.

     Outreach: Tara reported that after allocating $17,000 to community groups, Outreach still has $8,500 to disperse before June 30th.
