THE FOUR WAY TEST of the things we think, say, or do.
1) Is it the TRUTH?

3) Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

PROGRAM

Rebecca Silber: Rotary International Giving Officer, RI Evanston, IL
Celeste Herbert: Rotary International Major Donor Representative
Rebecca spoke to, “The Club “, about the value of E.R.E.Y., Every Rotarian Every Year.
This program of the Rotary International Foundation encourages all Rotarians to get involved in supporting The Foundation. Remember the funds we donate come back to us through the DMG program. Becoming involved is simple. Log on to the Rotary International website, sign in, click on Donate, and follow the prompts. You can make a one-time donation, or enroll in a recurring donation, monthly, quarterly, annually. Give it thought and try it out.
Celeste spoke to, “The Club”, about her role in working with large donors to The Rotary International Foundation. Her travels take her from Northern Maine to New Jersey. There are many ways to give to The Foundation. One-time gifts, using IRA’s, wills, and so on. Of interest to all was Celeste’s review of the origin of the Polio Plus program. Rotary knew there was a real need to address world heath issues. After much discussion, a decision was made to attack polio. On February 23, 1985, R I set up the Polio 2005 initiative. The program was renamed Polio Plus. The charge was to raise $120,000,000. By May 24, 1989, the program had raised $219,350,449. Skeptical at first but now convinced, W.H.O, and UNICEF came aboard. Both recognized, The Rotary International Foundation, as one of the most trusted charities in the world. Polio Plus has come remarkably close to completely eradicating polio world wide.
