PROGRAM  Amanda Brouwer, Librarian Acton Public Library

The Acton Public Library was renovated in 1999 and now needs updating. Library usage has increased and changed in the past 25 years.

Amanda presented an update on The Acton Public Library Renovation Project. A few of the highlights of the project dedicated are a user friendly and larger teen space, additional meeting rooms, expansion of the outdoor area, and a redesign of the front of the library.

This is a $5,008,000.00 project, funded by a combination of monies, $2,000,000.00 from The Connecticut State Construction/Renovation Grant, The Town of Old Saybrook, has committed to provide matching funds up to $2,000,000.00, the Library Board of Trustees is develop\oping a Renovation Capital Campaign. In addition, Amanda and her staff are planning a wide range of fund-raising activities.

1.)   Concerts on The Green begin tonight.

A.)  Arrive @ 5:45 to help set-up.

2.)    Celebrate Old Saybrook Day, Sunday June 23,2024,

A.)  The event runs from   2:00 P M - 7:00 P M.

B.)  Meet at the train station at 10:30 A M to get booth location assignments.

C.)        Sign up now to help with the event,

3.)     Plan now to attend the changing of the guard Wednesday June 26, 2024.

A,)  Location Lyme Art Association, Old Lyme. 6:00 P M.

B.)   Cost $25.00 per person, heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer included.

C.)       Sign up now.

4.)     District 7980 New Officers Inauguration Sunday June 23, 2024

A.)   Waters Edge Inn and Resort

B.)   Time 9:00 A M to 1:00 P M

c.)   The cost is $90.00 per person.

     5.)   Annual club dues, $200.00 are due and payable.

      6.)  All Rotary stuff moved from Marty’s storage.

          A.)  We have a rental unit for the stuff.

          B.)   Look around your home for any Rotary information you have.

         C.)    We want to have all pertinent information in one place.
