ROTARY MOMENT Bill McLaughlin
Last fall our granddaughter, Rebecca Shepard, left for Madrid to spend the school year teaching English in a grammar school. Prior to her leaving I gave Rebecca one of our Club banners to exchange with a Rotary Club in Madrid. Rebecca searched the web, located a Madrid Rotary Club, made contact, and arranged to attend a meeting. Upon arrival a young woman, a native New Yorker living in Madrid, took Rebecca under her wing and introduced her to the Cub members.
Both Rebecca and the members of the Madrid Rotary enjoyed a nice luncheon and a banner exchange.
We are proud of Rebecca for taking the initiative and putting all of this together. This banner exchange is a wonderful example of the length, width, and depth of the world of Rotary International.
