THE FOUR WAY TEST of the things we think, say, or do..
1) Is it the TRUTH?
2) Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3) Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

PRESIDENTS REPORT
1.) District 7980 Conference May 30,21, June 1 2025 Sturbridge Ma.
2.) Rotary International Conference June 21 – 25, 2025 Calgary, Alberta.
PROGRAM: Robert Friend, DG 7980
Robert asked for a moment of silence for all to remember 9/11/2001, that fateful day 23 years ago.
DG Robert Friend reinforced RI President Stephine Urchick’s theme for the Rotary year 2024-2025 “The Magic of Rotary” and the Power of Club Irresistibility. He also stressed the initiative of “Peace in The World.”
Rotary International membership remains at 1,400,000, with approximately 300,000 members leaving and 300,000 new members joining. The Rotary Club of Old Saybrook is gaining members as the result of an active growth promotion.
DG Robert Friend shared his story of becoming a member of The Rotary Club of Madison, his working through the chairs of Club leadership and on to District leadership. As he progressed, he had a” Rotary Moment,” when he went from being a member of a club to being a “Rotarian”.
There is a reason we join Rotary. All we do in “Service Above Self” changes lives every day both locally and internationally. We all can experience the value of being a Rotarian as we work in our home communities, and as we travel stateside, and worldwide.
Governor Friend described his Peace Pole. The four sides of the pole focus on four themes. Peace in your heart, Peace in the community, Peace in our Nation, and Peace in the World. We need to move peace which is embedded in everything we do and bring it to the top. All of us can help spread peace in the world. Robert talked about David LaMotte, Rotary Peace Fellow who promotes peace through his music.
