Paul Harris Awards Dinner

Pledge: President Nancy Morin
Prayer: Kathy Callinan
Guest Speaker: District Governor Elect for 2026-2027, Donald Wetmore

This evening, we honor 3 of our own, Gary McCauley, Charlie Renshaw and Pete Zucco with a Paul Harris award for their outstanding service in Rotary. Family and friends were present to join in and celebrate! Bill McLaughlin presented the awards and Marty presented State Proclamations (thanks to Devin Carney for arranging them) to each. Paul Harris started Rotary in 1905 and the Paul Harris Fellow Award is the highest honor a club can bestow on a Rotary member. The club donates $1000 to Rotary International Foundation in honor of every recipient.

Don Wetmore spoke about Burn Camp which our club supported. Don has been on the Board of the American Burns Care Foundation for 40 years. Burn survivors need a lot of treatment and prior to this, the only place to go was the Shriners Burn Center in Boston. Now there is a major facility in Bridgeport and has become one of the best in the country. The Burn Camp is a place where young people can go and spend time with fellow burn victims without the shame that can come when scars are exposed. This is one of so many important projects that Rotary supports.

The meeting ended with President Elect Jan Perruccio making an announcement. Pete Zucco will be Jan's successor at the end of her term in 2026. Big night for Pete!
