Announcements:
Ken Roche was readmited to the hospital but is home again now. Probably too early
for visitors but an e-mail or card would be nice.
Labeling the dictionaries will be done next week.
We still need two host families in the Old Lyme area for our exchange student. Contact
John Donnelly with any thoughts.
Walter Osborne is doing well after his foot surgery. We may see him in a week or two.
If there's enough interest, we'll have a golf outing at Black Hall next Thursday, the 29th.
See Brent Taylor if interested. The cost would be $90 for golf and cart.
Bob Antoniac needs activity on the wine tasting, sell tickets and get donations.
John Donnelly talked about a "Books for Babies" project where childrens books are
given to the parents of newborns thereby promoting Rotary and doing something nice.
There appear to be several ways this could be handled if we choose, work with a
hospital (which one?), partner with a group currently doing this or working through
local pediatricians. An intresting idea, more discussion to come on this.
President Keith talked about the holiday meetings. It was initially determined we would
meet on November 25th. An evening meeting on December 16th is being considered
with the possibility of no meetings on December 23rd and December 30th. More to
come on this.
The club policy on polital speakers was reviewed and determined sitting elected officials
are welcome to talk about their areas, but no campaigning.
John Donnelly announced the Rotary UN Day to be held on Novemner 7th. Go to the
Rotary.org site to register if interested.
