Bob read a thank you letter from Evan Anway who thanked the club for sending him to RYLA
Bob passed around the brochure that gave details on the Centenniel RI Convention in Birmingham England
Mike Velgouse:
Announced that Ran King will be joining the Rotary Club of Wallingford
Charlie Norz:
Charlie gave a report on the state of the club foundation and talked about the board meeting held on Oct. 14. It was decided to stand pat on our investments for now and to monitor the situation. Markets have been volatile and uncertain. Charlie told the club who made up the foundation board and how it was structured. In addition, Charlie announced that the budget would remain unchanged. There will be FB meetings in November and December to review the situation. The next FB meeting will be Nov. 19, 5:30 at Marty's RIver St. office.
Marty:
Marty & Bob Antoniac got before the club and gave an update on the planning. Auction items are badly needed and Marty went over the list to assign merchants that were not assigned due to the absence of the Rotarian who did so in the past. All club members have a master list of past donations.
Bob Antoniac:
Announced a spaghetti dinner to raise money for home heating fuel assistance. Matt Rubin is also involved in this project called H.E.A.T. Emergency Heating Assistance. The date is Nov. 13 from 5 to 8pm at Firemans Field and the cost is $10 per person. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance from the OS Police Dept., OS Fire Dept., OS Youth & Family Services, OS High School Students.
