John Donnelly: Thanks to Paul Moore for providing a ride to the RYLA students to Stratford last Friday
Andy Anderson: Spoke about a newspaper article he read concerning a large donation by the Gates Foundation ($255 million) for Polio erradication, a grant to Rotary International. For 20 years, RI has donated $6 billion in the effort. The job is almost done but Polio still exists. We can all be proud to play a small part as Rotarians.
John Donnelly: John was happy to talk about the Interact Club in Westbrook HS which has really taken root! The club is working on several projects including a Habitat for Humanity shed in Middletown, a planned relay walk in June for cancer, and have raised $100 for the Polio Plus Project. In February and March there will be National Immunization Days. 
Sofia Portukhay: Sofia is our exchange student from Ukraine and got up to talk to the club about a recent
tragedy that took place in Portland, Oregon. A troubled youth opened fire on kids at a school there killing two students one of whom from Peru. Sofia is collecting money for a memorial and the days collection of happy bucks was given to her. Funds collected will be presented to the Rotary Club in Portand at their district conference.
