Brent: Brent passed out the team rosters as well as the sheets of sponsors and the Rotarian responsible. The brochures will be available in a couple of weeks. Brent asked that all checks and raffle prizes collected be forwarded to him. All monies collected will be forwarded to Jess. There are 4 teams and the goal is $12.5K per team. The teams are posted on this website in the members directory area. Note each member has a code for sponsorships received so that proper credit is given.  The pictures will be sent out early April around Masters time.
Brent: The attendance today was very poor, and since we thought we were awarding scholarships today and anticipating a large crowd (kids and their families), told the caterer to bring extra food. Brent made a motion to increase the amount payable to the caterer by $50 and it was approved.

Program: Ron Scott
Ron took the podium to talk about our scholarship awards but the original program of awarding the students was postponed. Ron gave a little history on this program which he has chaired for over 20 years. To date, we have given over $299,000 dollars in scholarships to deserving students. This program began with a gift from the Sheppard family who had a desire to award students from our public school system who had financial need, assistance to attend college. The money, which was willed by Lindsay Sheppard, gave rise to the Foundation we have today. For many years, Peg Sheppard would give $1000 a year to the Foundation. Ron talked about some of the students who recieved awards and what they did. Ron handed out sheets that showed the scholarship winners over the years beginning in 1977.
Ron says this year applications are down getting roughly half the number as previous years. We only consider the top 1/3 of the class with a grading scale of 10 parameters including class rank, financial need and extra curricular activities.
