Brent: Reported on progress in the Golf Tournament. We need to push as money is slow to come in. When soliting, give out our brochure..may generate interest in membership. Brent passed around the worker signup sheet.
Bill Suits: Spoke about our new Outreach Program. Ed Pinn coordinated funds to send a high school special needs student to a one week camp that instructs people on diabetes care and management. Bill Bernhart and Joan Michaud coordinated the clubs assistance to send a high school student on the class trip. We will also help make possible a Goodwin student to attend camp.

Bob and Ann Czepiel spoke to the club about their expedition to Antartica and Bob dedicated his talk to Ron Czepiel. Antartica is the coldest, driest, highest and windiest place on earth. Icebergs can reach 70 miles in length. There are 17 species of penguins that live in colonies up to 1/2 million in number. The impressive albatross has a wing span of 10 feet. 98% of the surface of Antartica is covered with ice and winds go from 45mph to gusts of 150mph. Palmer station is one of 3 outposts. Ann showed the outerwear and special clothing needed to survive the conditions.
