Happy Bucks: Bob Antoniac, Bill McLauglin were happy to be back after a long time away, Matt Rubin was happy that the Safe Grad Golf Tournament raised about $11,500. From the club, Brent, Marty and Jess played and did pretty well. Bill O'Shaughnessy met the GSE team from Germany and there were lots of happy bucks for Bill Suits and his Paul Harris (Sapphire) award.
The Interact Club: Amber Scherber, Adviser
This is Amber's first year as the adviser. The club has 30 members and the meetings are very well attended. The club has been very active. In September, they worked at the Soup Kitchen in Old Lyme where 100 people received meals. They help at the food pantry as well. In October, Katy Price and Kathryn Mill attended the poplular Rotary program, RYLA. In February, the club did a fundraiser at the Middle School, a book fair that raised about $1000. They held a movie night, worked at the high school musical selling roses to support the soup kitchen and other community projects. They have gathered clothing and supplies for the Phoenix Project for victims of fire. The club participates in Habitat for Humanity and will be building a shed in October in Middletown. The club has a literacy project with members discussing books with 8th graders.

Bill Suits: There will be a meeting of the Outreach Committee following the regular meeting.
Bob Chase: Bob read a letter from student of the month, Lea Sweet thanking the club for the award.
Gerri Lewis: DARE graduations are coming up. The dates are as follows:
Tuesday, May 12 - St. Johns
Thursday, May 14 - Middle School
Our club is a major sponsor for the DARE Program. Rotary Club members should make an effort to attend the graduations.

Sandy Taylor, Golf Tournament News: A list of sponsors since 1997 was generated. The hope is to get new sponsors but don't forget about the old ones. Let Sandy know if you have gotten committments for players, sponsors, raffle prizes, etc. even if no money has been collected. We will be running ads in the Harbor News thanking last years sponsors. It will run again next week.
