We had a full house today. 10 students from the Dare Program,6 Police officers and Chief Michael Spera.7 Students of the month, Guidance director, Principals and teachers.
The big winner of the Brent Card Game was Bill Bernhart. Bill said he hadn't won since 1938.
A Big Welcome to Angus McDonald for his return to Old Saybrook and the Club. Nice to have you back Angus.
Brent reported that because of the program today, he would give us and update on the Golf Tournament.
Guest Amber Sherber showed the club a slide show giving us an update on the Interact Club activities in the High School. The shed the Interact club build this spring is now in Middletown where it was needed for a lady who needed a storage shed in the Habitat area she lives in. We done Interact.
Dective Sam Barnes introduced the 10 students out of the 102 students that wrote essays on what the learned as a resulf ot the D.A.R.E. Program. Each student read their essay and they all seemed to learn that Drugs and Alcohol don't belong in school or else where in Old Saybrook.
Chief Spera thanked the Club for its support of the D.A.R.E. Program. Without our help, the program wouldn't be.
