Bill O'Shaunghnessy presented with an award for his work with the
GSE team.
Program: - Keith Wescovich lead a discussion on the O.S. Rotary Foundation.
Talking points were:
Goals of the Foundation.
Support Growth of the Foundation.
What to do in Up/Down times.
What should the Foundation support.
Stan N. suggested a review of the charter would shed some light on goals &
definitions. Other comments were:
"That the goal should be to grow the Foundation."
"We should look to the community for gifting thru estate planning, bequeths etc"
"We can look to take out 5-7% from the Foundation to support our activities,
historical growth has been 9-10% over the long haul"
"We should strive to make the community aware of our activities to encourage
support, giving and potentially new members"
Other comments on the club in general were that we should strive to grow the
membership and keep our friendly atmosphere - President Bob.
We should have the Chamber present to us and vice versa, they are a great
source of new members for us - Bill O'Shaunghnessy.
Reminder - Next week is DG Rick Benson visit. Lets all make an effort
to attend (wear pins and badges).
