Presentation:
Peter Manley presented a special award to Bill Suits for his contribution in making our meetings fun. Bill always has a joke or story to tell and it gets things off to the right start. Bill claims he is running out of material - of course, he is just kidding. Bill was unable to attend last weeks meeting and so received it today.

Club Business: Treasurer John Donnelly
John passed out the latest spreadsheets showing expenditures and income. We are still receiving money from the golf tournament so the final income total is not yet established. John also passed out the information on the clubs Foundation assets. John has just registered the club as a corporaton in the State of Conn.
Pres. Bob would like to have a meeting that just deals with the Foundation and its bylaws. He feels it is time to update the bylaws so that the club has more input. Currently, the club has no authority in any way although it was pointed out that when the club votes on items, it is really a vote of confidence (or no confidence) which does influence decisions that are made by the Foundation Board. The Foundation Board is comprised of past presidents of the club. Keith would like to see more long term planning and goal setting.
Brent commented that our Foundation has grown considerably and thanks to the donation from the will of Ron Czepiel, it is one of the largest Foundations for a club of this size in the state if not the nation. Brent suggested that in order to grow it further, more of this type of giving is needed and an effort should be put in to make people aware so that they can do the necessary estate planning.
