male student from France.
President Keith indicated he would like some business sponsers to put their names
on his vintage Triumph sports car. John Donnelly made the comment that a client
of his was sued along with 40 others whose names were on a car that was involved in
an accident.
Joan Camire stated she could use a few more speakers for our programs. Contact
her with any ideas you may have.
PROGRAM: Joan Camire introduced our speaker, Cynthia Clegg from the Middlesex
County Community Foundation. Cynthia is also a member of the Essex Rotary Club.
The theme of the MCCF is "Live Local - Give Local". It was founded 12 years ago to
assist donors that wish to make charitable donations but may have problems in either
setting up the programs or don't have administrative skills or time. This way the
Foundation connects donors and needy charities. The Foundation invests it's donated
funds and has been doing pretty well is these tough ecconomic times (better than
most of us). They now have a war chest of about $4.5 Mil and expect that to grow
to $5 Mil next year. They have given out $1.5 Mil to date, benefiting hundreds of
folks. The organization also provides research seminars to aid non-profits in setting
up and administering it's resources. They also are doing "Webinars" to assist client
non-profits in marketing and administrative issues Cynthia seems very enthusiastic
about the organizations role in the non-profit field.
