Announcements:
    Ed Moska
welcomed us into "his tent" and said Lt. Mike Spiro would tell us more
about this facility later in the meeting.  Ed said there were around 200 Chiefs of
Police at the conference (which was held at Saybrook Point Inn).  He also expressed
thanks to Charlie Norz's daughter who was the function coordinator.  Great!
President Peter thanked the shed cleanout crew from last Saturday.  Also a thanks
to Bob Antoniac for getting a dumpster.
President Peter also mentioned that the District Foundation Seminar was this weekend
in Chester and that John Donnelly could use a few volunteers to help set up.  Also there
will be a luncheon with the R.I. President on October 6th.  Anyone interested in attending
    should contact Peter.

Program 1
    Stan Niemerski
introduced three of our Whitewater Conference attendees who shared
their enthusiastic memories with us.  About 30 countries were represented and the
students gained a great deal in understanding of other cultures and global problems.  It
was an "eye opening" experience for them all.
Program 2
Lt. Mike Spiro from the O.S. Police force told us about the facility we were meeting
in this morning.  As it turns out it is a small part of the whole Mobile Field Hospital
that the state of CT had purchased a few years back.  The whole facility when set up
covers a 3 acre site!  It is totally equiped with all the medical devices needed by a
full service hospital, surgical suites, CAT scanning equipment and the whole nine
yards.  It is totally self contained and independent from outside services.  It has power,
heat, air conditioning and two full bays for ambulances.  It also has a false floor for
runs of power and data cables.  It comes in 10 sections that can be erected and in
use in 1 day, pretty impressive!  It's the only one in the country and cost the state
$23 million.  It was dedicated to Ottilie Lundgren who was the state's only 'terrorist'
victim who succumed to Anthrax recieved in her mail.
