Bill M: This Saturday, the Interact Club will be working at the Old Lyme Congregational Church, serving meals to the area people in need. Rotarians are invited to go and witness the great job these kids do.
John D: Our club has supported the Old Lyme beautification project at the Post Office in conjunction with the Duck River Garden Club. This Satuday (all day), volunteers will be working and helpers are appreciated.
Lee: Lee, who is hosting an exchange student from the Ukraine, recognized Matt Vogt for his donation of a laptop computer for the students use.
Keith: The speaker schedule was distributed with several openings. The Student of the Month will be the second Wednesday of the month and since time is tight for programs, members (especially new ones) will be asked to give bio's on themselves.
Brent: There will be a golf outing for any Rotarian who would like to play at Black Hall CC which is hosted by members Andy Anderson and Charlie Norz. The date is Thurs, Oct. 9. Plan on lunch at 12:00 followed by 18 holes of great golf at 1:00. The cost is $60.
Charlie N: The Dictionary Project is under way and Charlie distributed schedules:

Anyone interested in participating in this great project should call Charlie. See the kids faces light up when they receive their very own dictionary!Stan: Stan talked about RYLA which stands for Rotary Youth Leadership Awards as a longstanding program that helps develop leadership and planning skills. Open to high school juniors and seniors, this program with all activities is run totally by Rotarians. We subsidize 2 high school students from our 3 towns. The students in attendance gave brief bios of themselves and they are:

Westbrook: Brianna Blank and Casey Krane

Charlie Polka: On Sat. Oct. 4, the townwide Park Cleanup takes place and many club members have signed up to participate. It starts at Colter Park at 8:45am and will be finished by 12. Jonny Ads restaurant will be providing lunch at no cost to participants. Please contact Charlie if you haven't signed up and would like to help.
Lee: Announed that our newest member, Chris Henry, is getting married on Oct. 19. Congratulations!
Pres. Bob: The meeting of Oct. 29 will be an evening meeting. Details to be determined but will probably be at our regular meeting place.
