The Club's wine tasting night is scheduled for November 30th.  More to come on this.

Program:   Mike Pace, our First Selectman, was our guest speaker today.
Mike's talk didn't center on O.S. politics or activities.  He focused on needs in society
today, needs in O.S. and his perception of the problems and potential solutions.  The "Warm
the Children" program was one of the items he applauded.  He feels more people have more
needs today.  Family groups don't exist to provide the support and help as in the past.
Family  values & togetherness are being lost in our mobile and fast paced society today.
There are more single parent homes and more two working parents homes.  More support
groups are needed to fill the gaps that are being created. The soup kitchens need more and
more help.  He also feels society is more focused on their "rights" today than on their
responsibilities.  He feels education is the key and kids must be given the opportunity to do
better than their  parents. He agrees that much has to be done but Bill McLaughlin hit the
nail on the head by stating that we approach these challenges 'one at a time'.  And if you're
not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
