Announcments: Our booth at the Arts & Craft Show netted $2,100.00 +/- Thanks to all for their efforts, Paul for the tent, Marty for the truck. The snow cone dept did exceptionaly well.
Lynn Faulstick introduced ou new district Governor Erestine "Ernie" T. Luise. "Ernie" joined Rotary in 1993 and worked her way up through the ranks to D G.
"Ernie" presented President Peter with a "woodruf key" to lock the Rotary wheel.
Thanks given to The Rotary Club of Old Saybrook for participation in the clean water Mexico project. Along with the Clubs from Derby-Shelton, & Hamden we contributed $13,000. This was matched by District 7980 with $13,000 and then Rotary International matched the Clubs dollars for $13,000 plus 1/2 of the District dollars or $6,500 for a total Grant of $45,500. Great project!
Special thanks extended for our Clubs involvement with "Meals on Wheels" and our bio filter project in India.
District Foundation dinner November 7, 2007 and the District Conference will be held at The Thayer Hotel, West Point, NY next spring.
